Heatwave Milk Warmer

Young ruminants, such as calves and lambs, have specific nutritional needs in their early stages of life. They have a preference for warm milk, which is important as their ability to convert milk into growth is at its most efficient during this time. Additionally, frequent small meals have been found to improve digestion. For long-term success, it is recommended to follow a colostrum feeding program with an accelerated milk feeding schedule. Ad lib feeding can save on labour and management costs, as the animals are larger at weaning time and the cost per kilogram of live weight gain is similar to that of once-a-day feeding.
